OuR StoryDiamondback Kennels
Established in 2018 in South Dakota by Tigh Leibel, Diamondback Kennels operates as a professional dog training facility, limiting our capacity to around 15 dogs at a time. This deliberate choice ensures that each dog receives the individualized attention and training time it deserves. While gaining entry into our program can be competitive due to our limited capacity, our clients attest that the wait is worth it!
Meet your TrainerTigh Leibel
I was born and raised on a cattle ranch in western South Dakota, where the value of hard work was ingrained in me—the day's end was determined by the completion of the task at hand. My educational journey led me to Northern State University, where I earned three bachelor's degrees. Following my academic pursuits, I dedicated seven years to a career in cybersecurity at a bank.
In 2015, I acquired my first dog and diligently trained her to the highest achievable level at that time. What started as a hobby evolved into an obsession, prompting me to leave the banking world in 2018 to pursue a career in dog training.
plans tailored for your dogMy Approach
It became evident early on that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work for dogs. Drawing from my experiences under various handlers, I tailored my program to meet the unique needs of both my own dogs and those of clients. My particular focus lies in establishing a solid foundation for dogs, whether they are destined for pheasant hunting, duck hunting, or participating in hunt tests. Despite my relatively short career, I've successfully titled numerous dogs at the Master level and ventured into field trials.
Professionaldevelopment
I actively contribute to The American Pointing Labrador Association as a Board of Directors member. I've had the honor of judging the national event and participating in numerous tests over the years. To continuously enhance my skills, I engage in regular training sessions with both seasoned professionals and training experts.
